Casting Call: Kurt Russell In Talks To Join Quentin Tarantinos Django Unchained

The actor, who worked with the legendary writer/director for 2007s Grindhouse, is in talks to join Tarantinos latest project, Django Unchained, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Russell, 60, would play malicious plantation overseer Ace a role originally given to Kevin Costner, who bowed out of the project last week due to scheduling conflicts, according to the mag. The movie, which boasts an all-star cast including Leonardo DiCaprio, Samuel L. Jackson, Christoph Waltz and Jamie Foxx, is slated for theatrical release on Christmas Day 2012. In related Django news, People reported Inglourious Basterds star Christoph Waltz recently suffered a pelvic injury during equestrian training on the set of the western drama. Christoph Waltz was injured while training with his horse in preparation for his role, the actors rep told the mag in a statement in a story posted on Friday. Waltz is currently being treated for a dislocated pelvic bone and is looking forward to getting back in the saddle.
