SnagFilms, Withoutabox pair up
Digital distributor SnagFilms has teamed with internet film-submission platform Withoutabox to have an initiative that enables filmmakers to submit photos to SnagFilms for distribution consideration via Withoutabox. A division of IMDb, Withoutabox has already been used by a few film festivals being an online application portal. The partnership with SnagFilm reps a unique initiative that aims to enhance ease of access to distribution pipelines. Indie-centric SnagFilms showcases photos in sponsor-supported, free, on-demand viewing with the company's website, its tablet pc applications and services including Roku and Boxee. Movies are also offered through compensated VOD on Comcast, FiOS, iTunes and Hulu Plus, amongst others services. Within the three several weeks because the soft launch from the SnagFilms-Withoutabox initiative, a lot more than 250 photos happen to be posted to SnagFilms for consideration.
