Monterey acquires N. American rights to 'Bobby'
Monterey Media has acquired all U . s . States rights to Famke Janssen's writing and directorial debut "Talking about Bobby.""Bobby," produced by Sofia Sondervan and Janssen, stars Milla Jovovich, Bill Pullman and Marcia Mix. The film opened up recently within the Deauville Film Festival and may have its U.S. premiere within the Savannah Film Festival in November, a theatrical release just before the conclusion of year.Jovovich shows a European disadvantage artist who finds herself dwelling in Oklahoma along with her 10-year-old American-born boy. 'Separation' 'Anatolia' lead Asia Off-shore noms

New Snow White Pictures Released
Julia Roberts brings the decadenceWe may still be waiting to find out an official title for the film, but Relativity Media is making sure we know Tarsem Singh's take on the Snow White fairy tale is well and truly on the way, releasing two new pictures to Entertainment Weekly that you can scope out in the gallery below.While the first look at Lily Collins as Snow surfaced around Comic Con, we now have a proper image of Collins and the dwarfs and Julia Roberts as her evil stepmother, the queen. Who clearly enjoys all the trappings of a rich life even as she plots the doom of anyone who dares challenge her standing as the fairest in all the land..."She's the cat that ate the canary," director Singh tells the magazine. "From serial killers to anyone who does evil deeds, they basically have a devil-made-me-do-it excuse, or they hear voices," he continues. "I decided for the evil queen, this is going to be a person who sees her good self - but there's a mirror personality."And, in keeping with her character, she prefers to let others do her dirty work. "She outsources her evil, just like most people," says Singh. "I wanted a person who is just schizophrenic. She's a person who would just do all the evil she needs to do to stay in power."As for poor old Snow, she's a victim of circumstance who ends up teamed with the seven dwarfs to help overthrow her stepmother. Shine inks deal with Discovery
CANNES -- Shine International has agreed a multi-title deal with Discovery Networks Latin America/U.S. Hispanic for more than 200 hours of programming. The package includes finished episodes of "MasterChef," "The Biggest Loser" and "One Born Every Minute." The second season of "MasterChef Australia" and "Junior MasterChef Australia" will air on Discovery Travel & Living.
Seasons one and two of both the U.K. and U.S. versions of "One Born Every Minute" are destined for Discovery Home & Health.

Casting Call: Kurt Russell In Talks To Join Quentin Tarantinos Django Unchained

The actor, who worked with the legendary writer/director for 2007s Grindhouse, is in talks to join Tarantinos latest project, Django Unchained, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Russell, 60, would play malicious plantation overseer Ace a role originally given to Kevin Costner, who bowed out of the project last week due to scheduling conflicts, according to the mag. The movie, which boasts an all-star cast including Leonardo DiCaprio, Samuel L. Jackson, Christoph Waltz and Jamie Foxx, is slated for theatrical release on Christmas Day 2012. In related Django news, People reported Inglourious Basterds star Christoph Waltz recently suffered a pelvic injury during equestrian training on the set of the western drama. Christoph Waltz was injured while training with his horse in preparation for his role, the actors rep told the mag in a statement in a story posted on Friday. Waltz is currently being treated for a dislocated pelvic bone and is looking forward to getting back in the saddle.
